100F in Houston the last couple of days

Converted into Celsius we talk about 37-38 degrees. Nice and warm and a must to jump into the pool. This afternoon we may do so at the home of one of the pupils to Laila back from the time she was a teacher in Haugesund. He is now VP at Rignet and supply communications solutions to the drilling vessels roundabout in the world. I remember we had contract with them at Shell in Norway on Seadrill’s West Navigator.

Next to the Italian Expo at the convention centre it was preparation for the Hurican season that “started” June 1st.

A lot of green spots around downtown in Houston

OK, we talked about the weather and at our walk around in part of downtown yesterday we could see what kids could do in the park there, if not a pool there are always alternatives.

Italian Expo 2011 – Houston report no. 2

Taste from Tuscany or for the eye only, the Italian Expo could have been a bit more of the total Italy. I am sure that with more travel promotion it would pitch and spiced it up. I will tell my friends at the Italian American Chamber of Commerce.

So what surprised me was the bottle design of Vodka with the familiar name Roberto Cavalli. I was driving so I did not taste so none recommendations (yet). I also noted that his brother have a wine yard now in Tuscany, but shame on him using French grapes.
To give you a better touch of the fashion show, some more photos.

And the young lady, interested in fashion or looking ahead for a career as a model I am not sure but fashion had her attention

Italian Expo 2011 – Houston report no, 1

It was the first time Laila and I headed for downtown after 5 months in Houston. With complementary tickets from the Italian American Chamber of Commerce we had an easy entrance.

So what was it all about?

Italian fashion not too sure about,

Italian wine I am sure about

and other attraction like houses with a Scottish guy living in Umbria coming across to promote his business and houses for sale in Umbria and Tuscany, prices still on the way down.

There was a fashion show with local Houston new upcoming designers. So have a look at some of their creations.
