Update on weather…

Sounds like I am hooked, and in a way I am. It is the cultural differences we may see when some get hysterical about ice and snow.

However I must admit I can understand some when I see what is going on. When nature put on just a few millimeters with ice on the heavy trafficked road cars should move slow. Or better stay home and not drive.

The ice has forced officials to close portions of several freeways throughout the Hosuton region arly this Friday morning and Harris County toll roads will be completely closed for the remainder of the day.

Authority will wait for warmer weather on Saturday before reopening the system. Slick and treacherous conditions were a factor in at least 100 wrecks in four hours this morning before authorities started shutting down freeways.

Freezing drizzle and overnight and early-morning temperatures in the 20s have caused the icy conditions, but the area may thaw out slightly by noon, but roads could be closed until tomorrow.

So you can understand it is exiting news for kids, playing at home, while some is doing home work or play games.

Walking across to Randall’s today for some grocery we noticed some shops was closed due to the weather condition. I say no big fuzz, it is just like an extra Saturday this week, a shame for those who was heading for the Willy Nelson concert tonight, also cancelled due to “inclement weather conditions”

In a way it is even worse in Dallas, they also have snow, or in another way, maybe better driving condition on the snow as long as they do not have the nice ice for skating cars.

At the Cowboy Stadium where the game is on Sunday (Super Bowl) five people have been injured by falling ice. According the Norwegian news yesterday there would be a 5000 NOK fee not have secured the roof for falling ice in Oslo, what would the fee be in Dallas? Or claim for them who was hit by the snow?

Looking forward to next week, temperature will be back in the 14-15 degree level, time to read about exotic places and SPA’s.
