For those who don’t know where to go to find the real Taste of Texas I will show you.
It is the restaurant with the same name. Today we did shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond for stuff for the kitchen and bed, will not mention what the end result was money wise, but we had 3 shopping carts full. Suddenly you see what you need when you are to fill up an apartment with needed stuff.
Finish the shopping we are lucky to have just Taste of Texas as a neighbor to Bed Bath & Beyond, and both 5 minutes walk from our apartment.
As a first time visiting you get the typical red Texan scarf to put on. I did not notice all the history that is within the restaurant, but I will get back soon to catch up on that.
I had an appetizer, Baked Brie, it is Brie cheese, baked in puff pastry with toasted pecans, apricot glaze and brown sugar, served with fresh fruit and crackers. Experience was that I would rather have it as desert than appetizer, but it was good and recipes are to find on their web site.
Than Laila got a Grilled Tenderloin Salad. Fresh mixed greens tossed with grapefruit, avocado and cilantro vinaigrette. Topped with spicy candied almonds, grilled red onions, 4 ounces of Certified Angus Beef tenderloin and a medallion of fried Blue cheese, just heaven.
I headed for the Grilled Tenderloin Medallions. Six ounces of grilled Certified Angus Beef tenderloin medallions served on bordelaise sauce and red pepper fried onion strings. Served with fresh asparagus and a baked Blue cheese stuffed tomato. In addition your choices from the salad bar.
It was for lunch, but we did not get anything for dinner or late evening today, taste remains all evening. So if you head for the Taste of Texas it is just where you should go.
